 2012 – 2013 Coaches

Courtenay Halliday- swam as an age grouper at Bryan Swim Club. Swam in College at Ohio Wesleyan where she was an All-American several times over.  She also was a high School Swim Coach at Sandusky High School. Courtenay has a BS degree in Education from Ohio Wesleyan and an MS degree from Marietta College she is currently a teacher in Marietta City Schools. 

Walt Teer-Swam with the Merced Skimmers in Merced, California.  Also swam and played Water Polo at Moreno Valley High School as well as swam competitively with The USA swimming club called the Moreno Valley Marlins and the Riverside Aquatics in Southern California. He has coaching experience throughout his career including a short stint at Marietta YMCA. Walt is owner of an oilfield business in 14 states and attended college at Delta State University & The University of Nebraska.

Ryan Zundell—swam competitively for the Fairmont Field Club Rock Lobsters (Fairmont, WV) summer team and Fairmont Aquatic winter swim team. After finishing his career as a swimmer, Ryan spent one season as an Assistant Coach of the Rock Lobsters before taking control as head coach for 4 seasons. Over the years Ryan has been involved with coaching various sports besides swimming such as youth and college basketball, youth soccer and youth baseball. He is the Art Director and an Instructor at Marietta College and has a BA degree in Advertising/Marketing and a MA degree in Communication Studies from West Virginia University.

Parent Association

The MYAC Parent Association is the heart of our team.  Active and energetic parents are needed to successfully run swim meets and to support the swimmers with team wear and awards.  The MYAC Parent Committees are listed below.  Every parent must assist on 1 committee and 1 Meet Management Team.  Many hands make the work light and share it across the entire organization.

Committees

 

 

Swim Store

Organize purchasing of team suits, caps, and other team wear/gifts (1-2 parents)

Team Pride

Design and purchase t-shirts, sweats or other Marlins apparel.  Organize and schedule team/individual photos. (2 parents)

Transportation Assistance

Coordinate travel arrangements for swimmers who may not have transportation to out-of-town meets (1 parent)

Awards

Cut ribbons, affix labels, and organize for distribution to all participating teams during the week after each home meet (2 parents)

Concessions and Hospitality

Purchase, coordinate and sell concessions for all home meets

Officials

Parents who are willing to attend an official’s clinic and serve as a YMCA official at the swim meets

Timers

12 timers are needed for each home swim meet.  We are often asked to provide timers for away meets also.

Meet Manager© Computer Operator

Home meets only.  Computer software training session is being held 9/21/12.  Operate the computer and record times/score the meet.

Timing Console Operator

Home meets only.  Operate the timing console for each race.
