New Post and Pre-Natal Fitness Class

This class will consist of low impact aerobics, easy weight training, abs, and back. The instructor is qualified to help with questions regarding fitness before and after delivery. Participants must have a doctors approval before attending class. The calss will run for 8 weeks with one class per week on Saturdays.

Dates: March 11 - April 29

Times: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Cost: $45 non-members

$25 members

YMCA Art Auction

On April 8, 2006 at the Comfort Inn on Pike Street, in Marietta the YMCA will be holding our annual Art Auction. If you would like to have your art work included in this event, please contact Karen Shaner at the Marietta Family YMCA. Reviews of artowrk will start at 6:00pm and the the auction will start at 7:00pm. To reserve a table for this special evening or to buy tickets please call Karen today!

From the desk of the Exec: Greetings! Is spring around the corner or does my nose just think it is? In the meantime, let's take a look at what's happening at the Y. Notice that it is easier to find a parking place? The staff has been parking at Giant Eagle! Good news for everyone that likes to walk before they workout. Just kidding. I do hope that you notice a difference with our new staff parking habits.
What's happening in Youth Sports? Pee Wee basketball, Youth basketball begins March 13, smart start golf begins on March 12, Flag Football begins on April 15, and Kiddie Kicker Soccer later on May 6.
Planning has begun for the HOP'N SUMMER CAMP. It looks like we are going to have a full 10 weeks of fun for 7 to 14 year olds that will cover everything from racquetball to crime scene investigation. Some of you may recall the sports camp that we had last year with Ely Chapman and Marietta College, we are planning a similar sort of camp with plenty of sports and learning (we don't want you to forget anything you learned in school). Word should be out soon! Watch this site for details.
What about a new Y? Where are we? Indian Acres? Renovate the existing Y? Build somewhere else? Keep posted for all the soon to be released details. The Board is looking diligently at our fund raising capabilities. We want to be able to raise the $6 to 7 million that it is going to take to build a new Y if that is the direction that we take. It may seem like a monumental task, but the result will be worth it. Larger spaces for more community activities.
